Cheryl Votzmeyer
I tend to get lost in my studio finding solace away from the over stimulation of the outside world. Here I can turn my music on and begin to engage with paint, ink, and wax. I am drawn to creating environments I wish to find myself in. Each piece is a kind of page in my journal, an exploration where I have expressed my internal outward. The current body of work I am creating is in reaction to the bombardment of information regarding current events and political climate; the effects it has had on me and the tribe of friends which surround me.
